Are you someone who has made a pivot in your marketing message a few times?

A therapist who we’ll call Betty Boop to protect her identity struggled with this.

She started out by stating that she was a psychotherapist who helps people with mental health issues.

Far too broad of a message.

She decided to pivot and stated that she helped small businesses grow their business.

Again, far too broad. How does she help them? What kind of businesses?

She would pivot again to say that she helps people understand and get involved in cryptocurrency.

Since then she has been a fitness coach, Leadership Coach, Digital Creator, and lastly a talent scout.

It’s not uncommon for people to tweak their offering from time to time to get it dialed in.

I myself have dialed in my offering over the years. However, I stayed within the mental health community and marketing industry.

What happens when you make big broad swings like Betty Boop did, is that you confuse your audience.

They no longer understand who you are, what you do, or how you can help them.

It works much better when you make small adjustments and keep a consistent message with your audience.
