Struggling with the LinkedIn lead finder system that will act as an automated search tool?

Believe it or not, you can utilize the power of LinkedIn for more than a place to post your resume or curriculum vitae.

You can actually use this powerful social media platform to help you find the referrals you need to grow your private practice.

If you’re intrigued by LinkedIn lead generation and referral program ideas for your private practice, this referral marketing strategy is for you.

Watch this video to learn how this will be your new referral search tool.

LinkedIn Lead Finder – Home Page

You start by going to the LinkedIn homepage.

And all we do here is we go up to the search engine in the tool bar.

Let’s say you’ve chosen teachers as a great source of referrals for you.

So type in the word teacher.

LinkedIn Lead Finder – List

Now, it’s created this big long list.

It’s got a hundred thousand people in it, which obviously is going to be too much for us to look through.

So we’re going to click on in the toolbar where it says connections.

The first degree connections are people you are already connected to you. You’re already friends on LinkedIn. Second degree connections are a little bit warmer of a lead. They’ve seen you on LinkedIn and maybe have liked a few of your posts, but you guys are not yet friends. Third degree connections are people who have never seen your posts. Never heard of you, nothing at all. It’s about as cold, a little lead as you can possibly get. You can certainly do third degree connections, but I would exhaust your second degree connections to start.

And that narrows it down a little bit further.

Now we can go with locations and we can get much more specific. You can type in a city or state, or it gives you suggestions.

Let’s use the suggestion for greater New York city area.

Now, what this does is it’s narrowed it down much further now. And it’s given you a list of all of the teachers in the New York city area.

Getting the Referral

Now, what I would not do is, I would not just go down this list and hit connect because that’s not going to get you any closer to getting referrals from people.

What you’ll want to do is to click on each of these profiles.

So, check out their profile, find out a little bit more about what they do and what kinds of things you may have in common.

And, from their profile page, click on connect because it’s going to allow you to type them a little bit of a note.

So, assuming that I’ve found something that we have in common or a means to strike up a conversation, I’m going to go ahead and click on that message button.

And this is where it gives you the opportunity to add a note where you can introduce yourself and let them know why you want to connect with them on LinkedIn.

As you begin the messaging process utilize the tips from this blog to ask for the referral without coming across as a creepy sales person.

And there you have it. Now you can use the LinkedIn Lead Finder option to help you grow your practice.

Now that you have a tool you can use on LinkedIn to start networking and finding referrals, what kind of tools do you use to enroll more clients?
