Have you seen these before?

“I only have one spot left so hurry up and register today”

These kinds of statements are meant to create a sense of urgency and get your followers to take action.

There is nothing wrong with creating that sense of urgency and asking people to take action.

I’ve even fallen into this marketing trap myself.

However, what is your first thought when you read these kinds of statements?

Are you thinking it’s B.S.?

Often what happens when we see these statements, we realize it simply isn’t true.

Followers will often think someone is trying to pull the wool over their eyes.

All of a sudden there is a lack of trust between you and your followers. It has the opposite impact you were hoping for.

What’s the alternative?

🥸It might be helpful to paint a picture of what life may be like if they DON’T take action.

🥸Nothing will change, they will still be in the same spot.

🥸Things can actually get worse.

🥸The problems they face will only make them more miserable.

🥸They’ll be further away from achieving their dreams.

🥸They are doing a disservice to themselves.

As a Mental Health Professional, your clients need to know they can trust you to be honest with them.

Employing these techniques can jeopardize that.

Use techniques that focus on building rapport and strengthening relationships.
