When I started my private practice 8 years ago, I was both excited and scared to death simultaneously.

Like most entrepreneurs, I started out a bit slow and steady as I learned what I didn’t know and executed what I did know.

Soon enough I was enrolling more clients and starting to make a difference. But it was slow…too slow.

I still wasn’t covering expenses.

I saw an ad for a business coach, whose marketing message discussed enrolling more clients for private practice.

I spoke with him and learned that this was what I needed to break through and go to the next level.

As he and I worked his program, he started encouraging me to do two things:

🔦 Start saying no to the things that weren’t serving me but merely keeping me busy.

🔦 Start hiring people who could fill in the gaps for me so that I could focus on growth.

Unfortunately, many of us wait too long to learn this lesson. Myself included. I was grateful to have a coach break me out of this mindset.

Before I knew it, I was really productive and even working shorter days.

I had people working with me to help me achieve a vision. It made me feel less alone.
