I’m often asked by practitioners what they should be doing to consistently market their private practice.

While there are a number of things that can be done to market a practice, none of them are as important as consistency itself.

That said, there are actually four things you should be doing consistently to market your private practice. They are as follows:

1. Blogging Consistently

Whether you are a video blogger or prefer the written word, blogging is important. Using specified keywords around your specialty and niche identifies you as an industry expert.

It also has a tremendous impact on your search engine optimization. So, if you are creating a blog that is heavy in the keywords that describe your specialty, you will begin to crawl up the ranks in Google, making it easier for people who need your services to find you.

The key here is to do it consistently. The more content that you can post on your website and push out on the internet, the more opportunity that Google has to recognize you and help you grow.

This is important, but the level of consistency with which you take on this task is critical as well. Your audience needs to count on when they can expect your next article.

If your efforts are sporadic, your results will be too.

2. Consistently posting on Social Media

One of the things I hear from practitioners most frequently when they complain about the impact of their marketing, is that social media doesn’t work. This simply is not true.

What we find when we dig a little deeper is that there was one post and then a lapse in activity and then another 2 weeks later.

The cold hard truth here is, in order to be effective in your social media efforts, you really need to be posting every day.

Additionally, the more opportunity you have to use social media to drive traffic back to your website, the better.

3. Networking Consistently

While this can often leave people conjuring up images of a sleazy sales person shoving business cards in your face and cramming their sales pitch down your throat, it doesn’t have to.

Simply getting out into the community at local events, you have the opportunity to meet other professionals and build relationships that help you grow your practice.

By focusing your attention on the other person and looking for ways that you can impact their efforts, you take the pressure off of yourself and build a relationship that will lead to a lifetime of referrals.

4. Consistent Newsletters

Email marketing is one of the most powerful ways you can consistently market your private practice.

The reason is because the people on your email list have made a conscious decision to be on your list. They want to hear from you.

While they may not yet be in a position to acquire your services, they’re interested enough in who you are and what you do to hear from you consistently.

Consequently, when they are ready to make a purchasing decision, YOU are the first person that they’ll think of, because they’ve been hearing from you consistently.

Whether you make the decision to write them once a week or once a month, make sure you follow through.

When they recognize that they can depend on you because of your follow through, it will build the necessary trust required to make a purchasing decision.

I’m always talking about how marketing is all about building relationships.

When you think about the relationships you have in your life, it is those relationships that touch you on a consistent basis that keep them in the forefront of your mind.

While there are people who you haven’t heard from in years that you love, it is those people who you interact with consistently that you think of when you are getting ready to make a decision.

You may think of them eventually as you mentally work your way down the list, but they are not at the forefront of your mind in that exact moment.

There are many ways that you can impact the marketing of your private practice consistently. Consistently market your private practice and you’ll begin to see the impact you’re looking for.
