You may be frustrated by all of the distractions and interruptions that keep you from accomplishing your goals.

We all know how important boundaries are when it comes to personal relationships.

The same is true professionally. I know that most of you know that.

However, I’m talking about boundaries as it relates to your given goals.

You know, we are so enthusiastic about the things that we want to accomplish.

We come out of the gate at the beginning with so much enthusiasm about the things that we want to accomplish. It’s easy to find ourselves tending to say yes to everything.

We tell ourselves,

“I’m just not going to say no to anything.”

“More people will learn about me, the more I say YES”

“I’ll get so much more exposure from my practice!”

Set Boundaries to gain focus

Saying YES may give you temporary exposure. But you have to maintain your focus on what the goals are that you’ve set out to accomplish.

In order to be successful with those goals, you really need to have a laser focus and tunnel vision on accomplishing those goals.

It’s so easy to get distracted by all the shiny bells and whistles out there.

People asking you to come for an appearance over here or contribute over there.

Basically, we’re all wonderful people and we want to help. We want to say yes all the time.

However, it is the quickest way to get you off track for your goals.

So, you have to set boundaries for yourself and those goals.

I heard a response about this that really resonated with me.

Set Boundaries with a “NO”

This person was saying that the difference between really successful people and everyone else is really successful say “no” ALOT.

They say no all the time because they’re so incredibly laser-focused on their goals.

They don’t allow for much else in their life.

Consider this as you’re putting your calendars together.

Think about how you’re going to break down these goals and accomplish them.

Set Boundaries with Protection

Be really protective of your time and your energy.

Keep your focus from the bright shiny objects that can distract you away from your goals.

Accomplish your goals and attack the year by storm.
