I love networking with people. I didn’t always. It used to feel really forced and salesy to me.

Until one day I had a coach that showed me how to do it correctly. Here are some of the nuggets that he gave me along the way.

✨ Look for ways to help the other person.
✨ Think about people you can introduce the other person to within your network.
✨ Investigate ways that you can collaborate
✨ Don’t be transactional, build the relationship
✨ Follow up and be supportive

AND MOST OF ALL

✨ Don’t expect anything in return. Do it because it’s the right thing to do not because you want a quid pro quo.

I’ve followed his advice ever since and have been blessed to meet the most wonderful people that I endearingly call my friends.

These beautiful flowers arrived for me last week with a lovely note thanking me for my support.

It’s amazing the lovely things that happen to your heart and your practice when you open yourself up to others.

I heard someone once say, “The best way to get what you want is by helping someone else get what they want. “
I’m filled with gratitude to be able to say that I’ve enjoyed some wonderful collaborations and some amazing friendships with this networking approach.
